Today there is going to be a focus on grammar and looking at using modal verbs, which will be a feature to include when you write your own non chronological report tomorrow. Click here to access the video and lesson information.
We are going to continue to follow the activities provided by White Rose. Remember, you need to watch the video on their website and download the resources from the links below. Today, you need to complete Summer Term Week 7 Lesson 3 (Rounding decimals).
Watch the video by clicking here to visit the Year 5 area of their website. and then answer the questions by clicking here to download the worksheet. Don’t worry if you can’t print it, just write the answers in your home learning book.
You can check your answers here.
You can also have a look at the resources on the BBC Bitesize website here. They link with the White Rose activity each day.
There are two options today which you can choose from based on what you have access to at home and what works for your family.
Tastes of the World
Children all around the world eat a variety of food and many of the foods we eat today are inspired by other countries. Find out about dishes from other countries (this could include the country you worked on earlier this week) and if possible one which you have not tried before. You could find a recipe, source the ingredients via an online shop, looking in the cupboards or adding it to your weekly shopping list and follow the recipe to create a dish for the whole family.
Exploring the World
Throughout history many people have explored new places. You can find out about some of them here.
Pick an explorer from the list or another one of your own choice. Map out the places that the explorer visited and any famous discoveries they made or create a piece of art inspired by the places they visited using digital images as support. To go even further, write a diary entry from the explorer’s point of view to share what they have seen and experienced.
