The Early Years at Christ the Sower

Ready to Learn, Ready for Life: Brave Shoots with Deep Roots

t Christ the Sower Ecumenical Primary School, our Early Years Foundation Stage offers a nurturing, ambitious and inspiring start to school life, where every child is known, valued and encouraged to flourish.

Our children are confident, caring, calm and kind, approaching learning with curiosity, resilience and joy. As an ecumenical school, we warmly welcome families of all faiths and of none, and our rich cultural diversity is one of our greatest strengths. It shapes a curriculum that reflects the world our children live in, helping them to develop respect, understanding and a strong sense of belonging.

We are proud that Early Years outcomes have been consistently above national averages for the past four years. High expectations, skilled teaching and carefully planned learning ensure children make strong progress from their starting points and leave Early Years ready to learn and fully prepared for the Key Stage 1 curriculum.

Our CARE values – Choices, Aspiration, Reflection and Engagement – are woven through daily life. Children develop independence, positive learning behaviours and emotional resilience, supported by a balance of purposeful play and high-quality adult-led teaching in rich indoor and outdoor environments.

Working in close partnership with families, we give every child the strong foundations they need to succeed — Ready to Learn, Ready for Life, with brave shoots and deep roots that will support them throughout their journey at Christ the Sower and beyond.
