Our Vision and Values
Our Christian Foundation – What Makes Us Unique?
Planted in Faith and Community – Our Roots
Our story begins with the ground beneath our feet. Christ the Sower was founded by the five churches of the Watling Valley Ecumenical Partnership and opened in 2004 on land that was once Grange Farm. Some members of our local church community even remember farming that very land.
Our Christian vision is inspired by Jesus' Parable of the Sower. We are quite literally planted in the rich soil of the community we serve, and we believe our school should provide the good soil in which every child can flourish.
Rooted in Christian faith and our Church of England and Methodist traditions, our vision shapes everything we do. We know our children and families well, recognise their individual needs and celebrate the wonderful diversity of our community.
Through our CARE curriculum, we provide the love, nurture, challenge, knowledge and experiences that help every child recognise their God-given potential.
Sowing Seeds Freely – Everyone Belongs
In the Parable of the Sower, Jesus teaches us that God's love is offered freely to all, without judgement or prejudice. Following his example, we welcome and value children of all faiths, cultures, backgrounds and abilities. We believe that every child is precious in God's eyes and deserves the opportunity to thrive.
We celebrate our diversity as one of God's gifts, ensuring that every child feels valued, included and able to see themselves reflected in our school.
Nurturing Every Seed – Growing and Learning
Just as seeds need good soil, sunshine and care to grow, children need love, encouragement, challenge and opportunities to flourish.
Guided by the teachings of Jesus and our CARE values, we nurture the whole child – academically, spiritually, socially and emotionally. We encourage children to be curious, resilient and reflective, to aim high and to understand that mistakes are part of learning. We believe that, with the right care and opportunities, every child can grow beyond what they thought possible.
Bearing Fruit – Making a Difference

Jesus' teachings remind us that faith is expressed through our actions and the way we treat others. We encourage our children to show compassion, stand up for what is right and take responsibility for the world around them. From helping others to caring for God's creation, our children learn that even the smallest actions can sow the seeds of positive change. Our hope is that every child leaves Christ the Sower ready to live a life of purpose, kindness and service to others.
